Greetings from Londonderry,
In last week's update, we covered the good winter season forecast predictions. Then, of course, this week we had one of our coldest August days we can remember with the temperatures never getting out of the 50s...so we can feel Autumn (and winter) coming!
Before it turned cold, we hosted a fantastic rehearsal dinner at the Tavern on Friday and then wedding ceremony on Saturday with cocktails, dinner and dancing to celebrate afterwards. Congratulations to a wonderful couple, Lisa and Chris, and their families and friends! I want to thank our incredible staff for helping make wedding "magic" happen for all. We appreciate the enthusiastic feedback from all the guests about the venue, food, service and the friendly, loving atmosphere created for the celebration.

I've always believed that whether it's a wedding, concert, hanging at the BLT, or skiing all winter long, what truly separates Magic is the people who work here and all those who come here. It's a tight-knit, but welcoming community which gives Magic a unique spirit and inter-connectedness. It's the soul of the place.
And, it's why we put people first here. You are not a number to us. You are not a "skier visit" (although we do keep track of the growing numbers). You are all integral to what makes Magic special, different and so much fun. You are the character and the vibe of this place. From our local staff to all who venture here from near and far: You are Magic.

No weddings this week so the Tavern is back open Thursday thru Sunday!
Our Kona Kornhole League kicked off last night with $5 Kona Big Wave beer specials and it was a lot of fun. Every Thursday come on out and play on the Alpen Deck for some fun prizes!

SINGO is back tonight at 7pm and then Saturday features the return of the Glen David Andrews Band! This is a get-up-off-your feet and dance, shout and sing-a-long as we celebrate Mardi Gras a little early with the sounds of New Orleans--yes, there will be Hurricane drink specials as well! Bring your lawn chairs, blankets and good vibes as the weather looks perfect for Saturday evening with a Free Show! The remaining schedule for our "Dog Days of Summer" Concert Series is as follows:
- 8/30: The Martel Band to kick off Labor Day weekend. Also, live music on Sunday 8/31 from 5-8pm
- 9/6: The series finale featuring Mike McCann and the Underdawgs

Fall is around the corner and we will soon be riding Green Chair to Sunshine Corner in late September and early October for peak foliage season with live music, food and drink up at mid-mountain with those beautiful views across the valley. But, before that, we will be soaking up all that summer has to offer! Hope to see you here soon.
Keeping the soul (and chill vibes) in skiing,
Geoff
