Snowmaking Starts!

Greetings from Londonderry,
Last week, our picture above was the completion of the new HKD tower gun line at the Abracadabra novice area. One week later, all the new piping and guns got to show there stuff today. It was a short 6-hour, marginally cold weather window, but the system upgrade showed its power!
The snowmaking team, led by Andrew Starr, also lit up guns from top of the Green Chair down Wand to the headwall at Show Off. It looks like our next weather window comes Monday and the forecast is beginning to hint at a cooler mid-November than previously forecasted with a possibility for accumulating snow in a week or so. We'll see, but our snowmaking investment this off-season (another brand new HKD Fan Gun just arrived this week) is already paying dividends for our plans to open early for you with some lift-served skiing hopefully by Thanksgiving weekend!
Red Chair passed its annual state inspection this week so all our chairlifts are 100% ready-to-rock with plenty of time to spare! Many thanks to our entire operations team for getting us to where we want to be as of the first week of November. Winter Magic is coming!

Magic in the News: Bloomberg Business article on October 28th recognized Magic as one of the 5 places to go "When a luxury trip means no lines or crowds". They described us as the "antithesis of east Coast corporatization". Our "old school terrain...delivers some of the best skiing in New England". I guess, intentionally limiting ticket sales and investing in the right amount of lift capacity to preserve an uncrowded ski experience can be viewed as a "luxury" these days...just common sense to us if you care about skiers and riders first.
Also, look for me as a guest on ESPN's Pat McAfee Show on Tuesday 11/22 where I'll be breaking down all the college football games...or, just talking about skiing. Who knew?___________________
November is "Savember" as we keep skiing affordable with many lift product options. Season Pass sales are up +6% and our Throwback Cards are up a whopping 36%. Our fan-favorite Freedom 4-Packs launch for 10 days only on 11/21 thru Cyber Monday. So put that on your calendar!
The low out-of-pocket ($129, saving $30 before 12/2) Throwback Card saves you money on every visit with $74 tickets all season long, plus one free ski day. That's a 30% savings off our low online ticket prices. If you plan to visit Magic two days or more, this card saves you money!
Season Passes are still under $900, with lots of cost breaks for different age groups and Vermonters. Our Fall Pre-Season sale saves $50 per pass before 12/2, so join the most fun pass holder group around.
Our annual pre-season day-specific ticket sale is also happening in our e-store which now saves $34-$44 per ticket versus our walk-up ticket window rate before the season starts. Incredible deals for all you planners out there.
Our new "Flex Day Tickets" can be used anytime this winter by anyone. These are transferable ticket vouchers currently saving $16 off their in-season price for only $99 now until 12/2. So if you stink at planning, this is a FLEXIBLE option.

On behalf of all our staff, I want to give a moment of thanks to all the Veterans who have served our country. Veterans Day is next Tuesday. We are so fortunate to live here and even more fortunate to have men and women serving our nation to keep us free and safe. Many generations of military families have given so much for America. The least we can do is recognize and honor them, and in turn, live our lives honorably and treat each other with respect, care and down-home American friendliness. Thank you, Vets!
We will see you soon for opening day festivities!
Keeping the soul in skiing,
Geoff
