Rainbows and unicorns....there is always some magic here to enjoy!

Greetings from Londonderry,

The summer is rocking and rolling here! More people than ever enjoying all that Magic has to offer when we don't have our skis and boards on.

With each passing day, we are one step closer to what will be a wild winter ride it seems with a historic El Nino weather pattern setting up. There are a bunch of prognostications out there, but no one really knows, other than it will be active. Hopefully we will be on the good (colder) side of whatever storms head our way, especially if we get more nor'easters. Here's an optimistic one from the folks at Direct Weather on that front:

All we know is that we will be ready for the roller coaster, so put your seat belts on!

Speaking of ready, our mountain operations crew is busy advancing our snowmaking system as I mentioned in the last update. New water pipe and hydrants are in on Sunshine Corner to improve productivity on the East Side. On the West Side, new air piping and new hydrants have been added to Lower Wizard from Talisman exit down to Rabbit Run to bury that weak spot with snow. This week the attention moves to Lower Trick piping as well as more new air piping farther up Lower Wizard near Sorcerer! Thanks to Andrew, Kyle and Gabe for their teamwork there.

Always reinvesting: new pipes and hydrants on Wand & Lower Wizard.

Trail maintenance and mowing have also begun with Chris, Mike and Don. We will also be scheduling our annual community-supported glade clearing Work Days, led by Matt and Andrew again this fall, on 9/26, 10/3 and 10/10 to coincide with when the Green Lift will be spinning to Sunshine Corner for Autumn festivities and leaf-peeping there!

Be an integral part of our community this winter with a Magic season pass! Our Tier 2 Summer pricing sale is on and if you purchase by Aug 15th you can still opt-in for even monthly payments over 4 months thru November 15th. It's time gear up for winter! And, let's get those kids signed up for our fun seasonal Devo, Race and Freeride weekend programs which keep growing as more new families join Magic. My kids made so many life-long friends from these programs, in addition to falling in love with this great sport forever.

BLACK LINE TAVERN

Our Dog Days of Summer music series has kicked off this August on Saturdays with last weekend's show featuring New Orleans' own Glen David Andrew who always gets the house (Alpen Deck) rocking and shouting with his NOLA energy!

This Saturday there will not be a show as the Tavern and Alpen Deck are closed for a private wedding event!

We will miss you all that day, but we do enjoy hosting these celebrations of love here at Magic!Tonight we have local dinner specials for Cornhole night and Friday night we enjoy SINGO together! Thanks for supporting the Tavern this summer with dining up dramatically as people enjoy our themed nights and expanded menu. Mary Ellen, her BLT crew, and Chef Dave and his kitchen staff can't wait to serve you inside or outside on the beautiful Alpen Deck.

While we are already thinking about winter, it is important to enjoy the here and now. Every day is special as time is fleeting. And, there's nothing like enjoying it with family and friends, especially new ones we meet along the way. We just never know who will make a positive impact on our lives, and vice versa, if we stay open to welcoming others yet to be known.

Keeping the soul in summer,

Geoff
