It's happening....
It's happening....

Greetings from Londonderry,

Our staff here can feel it.

Our mountain is changing shades.

Our urgency to finish projects is quickening.

Winter is coming! We can't wait...but, we love Autumn and it's officially here in a few days!

Our Fall Foliage Scenic Lift Rides to Sunshine Corner begin next Saturday September 26th. Such a colorfully fun time to be in Vermont and at Magic over the next month. So, first things first. Let's enjoy the fall weather and beautiful views which help get us all in the mood for the upcoming winter ski season.

Magical People

As the seasons change, so come some changes at Magic as well.

We've hired new managers in key departments that we are very excited about. This summer, Marc Oldenberg was been promoted from within our ski patrol group to become the new Director of MMSP. He brings a strong, knowledgeable Magic Patrol customer-service approach, combined with extensive administrative expertise from his career in public school education. He knows our team, the mountain and its skiers/riders.

Billy Davidson is new to Magic but has been in the neighborhood. He was Director of Snowsport at Bromley for 10-years and now joins Magic to lead our Snowsports group--both our daily ski school lesson programs as well as our season-long youth weekend coached programs for the Devo, Freeride and Race athletes.

Toni Starr joins us from Okemo where she has been a top Level 3-certified Lift Mechanic and she will be the lead mechanic here joining Jeff Lovell and Russ Murphy. She will also be managing all lift operations personnel during the ski season.

We are excited to have Toni, Marc and Billy collaboratively lead their hardworking staffs. Please join us in congratulating and welcoming them when you see them here this fall and winter.

Save $50 per Season Pass by September 30th

Our Tier 2 Sale Price only lasts for the month of September, so it's go-time to save big on passes to Magic. We have a wide variety of passes that are affordable for out-of-state and in-state residents. Families save with automatic discounts. Young adults save. Service members save from military to police, fire and EMS, and grade school teachers. And, if you can skip the holiday periods, the Black Out pass is a money saver for adults. Plus, let's get those kids signed up for our fun seasonal Devo, Race and Freeride weekend programs, which keep growing as more new families discover Magic.

Black Line Tavern

Chef Dave will be rolling out a new Fall menu starting next Wednesday so come out and dine with us at the Tavern.

This weekend we have SINGO on Friday and then Bigfoot County playing the Dead, The Band, and other classics on Saturday...their wardrobe colors will match the changing scenery outside. The show starts at 6pm on the Jamaica Cottage Alpen Deck and is free to all thanks to our partners at Oliver Automotive in Bennington and Rutland.

Grab your lift tickets now for our Fall Foliage rides on 9/26, 10/3, 10/10, 10/11. (Season Pass Holders ride free!) The party will be at Sunshine Corner from 11-4p with live music, grilled food, cold bevies, corn hole, a Magic Pumpkin Patch for kids to take a small pumpkin down the lift and paint at the Alpen Deck afterwards! All supported by our friends at The Bank of Bennington!

Don't forget that our community also gathers together on the Saturdays of Fall Foliage rides to help clear out glades. The first volunteer work day is 9/26 and we will be focusing on the East Side by cleaning up White Out into Seance. We start at 8:30am for coffee/snacks, then head up the mountain by 9, and finish up the morning work with lunch at Sunshine Corner! There's nothing like contributing as a group to make the mountain better while making a whole bunch of new friends. There will also be some painting/clean-up projects around the lodge. Big thank you in advance for helping!

There is a ton going on here over the next few weeks and hopefully you can make some time to breathe in the Autumn vibe in Vermont. Our Summer is about over and it's been very successful at the mountain and the Tavern. Let's keep it going this Fall as we prep for a snowy winter!

Keeping the soul alive,

Geoff
