Record February Break

Greetings from Londonderry,
I hope every one is mostly dug out from the Nor'easter that hit the coast especially hard on Sunday/Monday. Magic was on the northern most edge of the storm and picked up about half a foot which has freshened things nicely.
Thank you for another record turnout last Saturday for Winterfest! Tons of snow and tons of fun for all who sampled everything from pow turns, to our Freeride Open, to DJ spinning dance tunes at the T-Bar, to our Ski Patrol silent auction, to apres ski vibes, to the Torchlight Parade/Fireworks and live band! Wow, we know how to pack it all in and still come back for more on Sunday.
Here's a quick video recap of just some of the action: Winterfest Video Here

Even with all this snow, our operations team is going to fire up the snowmaking guns on Vertigo tonight to take advantage of the cold weather at night. Temps drop again on Sunday night into Monday and we plan to reinforce Upper Wizard for the spring access to the West Side and also on the Lower Magic Carpet run-out so we can exit those far East Side trails into April. So we're investing in spring skiing access to Magic for all. And, looks like Saturday will be the first real spring ski day with a whole lotta sun and fun on the last day of February!
Stay tuned to our Snow Report for all the latest as you make your plans.

We've received a bunch of very nice reviews over the last few days on Google and thought I'd share a couple that highlight the unique Magic experience we strive for:
"Sick mountain. I was there on a "sold out" day and it wasn't even crowded at all."
- Jared D.
"I'd keep my mouth shut about this wonderful place but they limit ticket sales so I don't think there's a ton of risk...A gem where the spirit of skiing is alive and well. This place is all fabulous fall lines and dense trees. A real locals ski area with history to prove it."
- Rachel A.
"The ticket office is so great and customer friendly and easy to deal with. Love the mountain and all the people that make Magic what it is - the best mountain in NE."
- Eric H.
Now, of course, we're not perfect...
"We couldn't even get past the ticket booth because they won't let you buy online and then when we tried to buy a ticket online it did not accept any of our credit cards. Waste of time."
- Drew L.
Well...whether at home, or in our parking lot, or in the lodge...please buy online to save money and time! Here's the link again, because we actually DO want you to buy online (and we do accept all credit cards ;-))

Our Snowsports Team pulled off the return of the Magic Mountain Freeride Open Competition on Black Line this past Saturday. BLACK LINE TAVERN
As we turn the corner on February and head into March, there's going to be plenty of fun inside the Tavern as well as out on the hill at The Lawson's T-BAR where Friday and Saturday's beautiful days will see a bunch of action there. Inside we have our Thursday Trivia Night, Friday Singo, Saturday apres party with our own Pati Mac, and then the Moon Hollow Band here from Western Mass starting at 7pm.

We also have on the Alpen Deck this Saturday our annual Vermont Specialty Food Day with all kinds of great local Vermont food and drinks to sample and purchase.
Also, a special shout-out from Ski Patrol Director Andy Belcher to all those who purchased Silent Auction items and raffle tickets during Winterfest. All our patrollers do so much for the mountain to keep us safe, cared for in emergencies, and getting us access to so much of Magic's great terrain. So everyone's support is crucial to this mostly volunteer patrol staff. Andy wants you to know that there are still 3 raffles out there to purchase tickets for, with so many great prizes to win. The drawings will be held on March 28th!

There were a lot of "interesting" costumes out there during Winterfest which is always fun to see. As we head into March, I'm sure we will see a lot more! Keep them coming...lots more skiing ahead. March is historically a big month for big storms. Let's keep thinking snow all the way into April.
The long February vacation week was a record visitation period for Magic and we appreciate so many more of you making Magic a part of your winter plans. I want to give a huge shout out to our incredibly hardworking staff in welcoming everyone here and serving you so well. As a small business, Magic needs to go above and beyond during the extra busy times and our team did just that over 11 straight days. Our Magic skiers and riders stopped me numerous times to express their appreciation for their efforts. Thank you all!
See you here this week for more fantastic skiing and riding together!
Keeping the soul in skiing,
Geoff
