Greetings from Londonderry,
We know it's early June when our leadership team heads to the Vermont Ski Area Association (Ski Vermont) Annual Meeting to review results from this last year and look ahead to the 26/27 ski year.
Despite a decline in total US skier visits, the state of Vermont had a good year with visits up 4.7% to 4.36 million this last winter--which is better than the Northeast as whole which was up +3.2%. And, Magic Mountain was happy to help Vermont with an increase of 11% as we had our second year in a row of record visitation. GM Paul Maitland, Guest Services Director Devon Galbraith, Marketing / Safety Director Oliver Mauk and I had time to meet with fellow resort teams and key vendors as we look to expand cooperation and continue to help the state of Vermont achieve its travel and tourism goals to create a brighter future for our state and its residents.
Vermont has so much to offer as do our ski areas here. It's a unique place and industry to build lasting careers for those coming out of high school or college. At the meeting, I was elected to join the board of Ski Vermont. While Magic is not one of the larger resorts, we have a quintessentially unique perspective that fits with the our state's tight-knit, community feel versus other larger states. So, I look forward to continue building pathways for young people into the ski industry, especially for those who grow up in Vermont, so they can stay here, grow and contribute to Vermont's way-of-life that we all love so much.
And, vital to Magic's continued success as an independent ski area is our season pass sales so we can continue to do the off-season work to make our slice of heaven here in Vermont ever better for our skiers and riders. Our Early Bird Sale ends in just a week which saves $100 per pass over the next Tier 2 summer price period, and $200 off our final Tier 4 pricing. And, we offer no interest financing for low monthly payments through November. We have the best pass deals in southern Vermont. We are currently running 10% ahead of last season during this same time frame which is right at our cap we set for "Early Bird" Tier 1 pass sales if that trend continues through June 15th to keep our mountain crowd-free.

BLACK LINE TAVERN
This Saturday we have our first Outdoor Movie Night of the summer which will happen once-a-month out on the Alpen Deck (or inside depending on weather) as we bring a variety of live bands, game nights and movie nights for every one to enjoy in the great outdoors with family and friends! This Saturday at 8:30 is a great movie "National Treasure" from 2004 starring Nicolas Cage with tickets only $5. Get dinner beforehand and feel free to bring blankets and chairs for the lawn, too. It's something new and fun, so join us!
Our Summer Solstice Music Series also is happening this month on Saturdays 6/20 and 6/27, presented locally by The Richards Insurance Group, continues later this month with two great shows on the Alpen Deck, and with the new Jamaica Cottage Alpen Bar making its debut!
Our new Wednesday Trivia and Thursday Cornhole Nights have been big hits as well. The BLT staff appreciates the positive comments about the menu and we always love feedback so we can make your experience better!

This Disc Golf course is now open for all 18-holes as the trail crew has been out weed-whacking the greens this week. The price is still the same--just $10--and we do have discs to rent for those trying it. Our sales office is open during weekdays 9-4p and the Tavern can take care of your disc golf needs on Saturdays.

It's going to be a fun summer together both inside and outside the Tavern, as our operations team works hard to prepare for an exciting new ski season. More updates on that front coming soon as always!
