Magic Rises

A couple of inches of snow graced the mountain this week!
A couple of inches of snow graced the mountain this week!

Greetings from Londonderry,

As you can see from the picture, we are just beginning the transition from stick season to snow season here in southern Vermont.

We fired up the snowmaking system once again this week for an extremely brief cold window on early Tuesday that also coincided with light snow this week. Everything is on the marginal side of temperatures in the upper 20s to mid 30s, when we want it between upper teens to mid 20s for productive snowmaking. Certainly not unexpected this time of year and the team here will seek out those short overnight cold temps whenever possible over the next couple of days and into next week.

We released a new video (Magic Rises) today by my nephew John celebrating the early return of snowmaking here at Magic with a Dark Knight Rises movie parody. Enjoy viewing it here

Thanksgiving is quickly approaching on 11/27. As discussed previously, it is our plan to open 11/28 at Noon for an afternoon ski day and party off Green Chair and at the T-BAR for our Season Pass and Throwback Card holders. And, then open to all for skiing off Green Chair on Saturday 11/29 at 9am. (This will be dependent on the weather turning a bit colder for more snowmaking of course.)

Thanksgiving is also a time for remembering those less fortunate. Many have trouble even affording food and other personal health necessities during the holiday season as prices continue to rise. Magic will be supporting a food drive for Londonderry and surrounding towns from November 28-30th as we re-open for the season. If you will be heading here or are in the area that weekend, please help by dropping off non-perishable food plus health and beauty items in our collection boxes in the base lodge and Black Line Tavern. Thank you in advance for your generous support of our folks in need here in southern Vermont!

Our "Savember" monthly sale rolls on and is a great way to keep skiing affordable. Remember, our fan-favorite Freedom 4-Packs launch next Friday the 21st for 10 days only thru Cyber Monday saving 25% on four transferable ticket vouchers good anytime this ski season.

The low out-of-pocket Throwback Card saves you money on every visit with $74tickets all season long, plus one free ski day. That's a 30% savings off our everyday online ticket prices. If you plan to visit Magic two days or more, this card saves you money!

Season Passes are still well under $900 saving $50 per pass now before 12/2, with lots of cost breaks for different age groups, like 18-29 year olds, local Vermonters, and "Service" people from military, police, fire, EMS and grade school teachers.

Our annual pre-season day-specific ticket sale is also happening in which now saves $34-$44 per ticket versus our walk-up ticket window rate before the season starts!

Our new "Flex Day Tickets" can be used anytime this winter by anyone. These are transferable ticket vouchers currently saving $16 off their in-season price for only $99 now until 12/2. So if you stink at planning, this is a FLEXIBLE option.

Our youth seasonal programs (Devo, Race and Freeride/All-Mountain) start after Christmas and go all season on the weekends. It's a great way for kids to not only become a fantastic skier and rider, but to make life-long friends with a true love of the sport. Grow up Magic! Save $100 by registering before 12/2!
