We'll have 48 trails and on-map glades, plus boundary-to-boundary tree-skiing for Saturday into the big Presidents Weekend. Magic will be open every day next week for this holiday period with a bit milder winter weather ahead. The Abracadabra handle tow area will also be open for skiing with half the area including new terrain park features after debuting last weekend. Night skiing there is available on Friday and Saturday evenings from 4-7pm. Ticket sales and Indy Pass reservations are "brisk" for the holiday weekend, so be sure to order in advance to insure access to Magic

Snowmaking on the West Side continues at night this week with some "whale" skiing during the daytime on Talisman as we let it cure before grooming. Check out the latest video in our "Spaghetti Western" series started last winter--kudos to videographer/editor John B. Hatheway (yes, nephew and Godson) and his acting talent from ski patrol (Gary Hedman and Dan Dewey) and snowmaking (Andrew Starr).

BLACK LINE TAVERN

The Lawson's T-BAR will be happening almost everyday this holiday week at the base of Show Off for food, bevies and a warm fire-pit.

Tonight there's SINGO at 7pm; and, then Saturday we have Sammy B for our Apres Party and then the Erica Reynolds Band at 7.

Sunday is Mardi Gras time at Magic with a lot of bead wearing and perhaps some Hurricanes at the BLT...and, the return of none other than the Glen David Andrews Band straight outta NOLA! He brought the house down last year and this man will do it again! (Oh, and we're doing it with no cover to celebrate!)

And, don't forget, we will be celebrating Winterfest together on Saturday 2/21 in partnership with our Ski Patrol's annual fundraiser/silent auction! There will be a Freeride Open Competition starting at 10am; DJ JSPIN$ live at the T-BAR at Noon, then the silent auction until 3-7 with apres ski music, Torchlight Parade at 8pm (registration to be in the parade will be that day at the ticket office for the first 100 starting at 10am), Fireworks at 8:15, and live band that night featuring Jatoba! What a fun day for all celebrating our Magic community!

As lovers of winter sport, we can't forget that the Olympics are happening and it's so inspiring to see so many Vermonters competing for our country. And, you can't get more local than Ben Ogden from Landgrove here who took America's first medal (silver) in cross country in 50-years!

Congratulation to Ben and West River Nordic Sports, SMS and Wild Wings XC! What a special moment in history for our local community to celebrate with him and all who have supported Ben's dream.

Let's also relax and enjoy all our special moments together over the next 11-days we are open--our staff will be going all-out for you over this extended holiday period and I'm so proud to have them on the Magic team and "making magic happen"!

Keeping the soul in skiing,

Geoff
