Greetings from Londonderry,
It was fantastic to see so many come out for Londonderry's Independence weekend celebration. From the town parade on Saturday to the fireworks and music celebration outside on the Alpen Deck Sunday night, spirits were high and such fun to be a part of our mountain town community gathering here to honor the founding of our country.
Special thanks to our Magic Alpine Club kids for decorating our shuttle van and marching in the parade, along with many of our Ski Patrollers!

We are also getting busier now as we prep for the winter season. Our lift ops is way ahead of the game with maintenance on all our lifts. And, the snowmaking team is out there with trail maintenance and cutting back limb growth along the sides for more skiing space. They also received a large shipment of snowmaking pipe as we are replacing a large section of the lower "300 Line" pipe from lower Black Line all the way to Show Off that was more like Swiss cheese by the end of last season. This will also allow for new hydrants and more snow to be made at the top of Show Off intersecting with Wand.
Of course, it will be part of our efforts to now make snow relatively early in the season on Witch to Black Line under the Quad! You will see new pipe replacing old pipe as well in the base area. More to come on plans there as we continue to upgrade our snowmaking capabilities every year.

The Tavern is open Thursday-Sunday with air conditioning inside and beautiful mountain views from our deck outside. Friday is SINGO night on the deck, with Saturday open for lunch/dinner and this week we have Tom Davidson playing from 5-8pm as the moon rises over the mountain. Sunday is our fabulous brunch stations with champagne, mimosas and bloodies. Brunch goes from 11-3 and then we have our lengthy appetizer menu available until 6p with refreshing bevies--especially tasty after a round of Disc Golf or mountain hike! There's also cornhole under the tent.
Coming up soon, the Tavern will be putting on its "Dog Days Of Summer" outdoor concert series on Saturday Nights from 7-10pm in August and early September. The deck and the surrounding hillside will be a fantastic place to hang for great music and cold bevies.

I also want to take this time to mention and thank Kerry Mara for her years of service to Magic Mountain. After 14 years, Kerry has decided to explore other opportunities with long-time business colleagues from her prior life. She will still be around skiing here in the winter as she has done since her childhood. I thank Kerry for her love of the mountain and its community, and for giving so much of herself to this special place. It's been a fantastic ride together since our own kids were in the race and freeride programs here!
Our head of Guest Services, Devon, will be taking on the wedding and mountain rental sides of the business, and Oliver will be adding event management to his marketing, sales and safety portfolio, both reporting into Paul Maitland, our GM. We wish Kerry more happy trails to be carved in her new ventures and will see her back at the Tavern and on the slopes this winter!

Hope to see many of you over the summer as southern Vermont is a special place, even when it's warm out!
Keeping the soul in skiing!
