Almost Holiday Time!

Greetings from Londonderry,
Last week was a fun weekend of skiing with fresh snow and more trails! Our early season turns did not disappoint!

Today is another beautiful, bluebird day for a "Everybody's a Local" Thursday with $75 tickets for all.
Unfortunately, can't say that Friday will be the same. We're going to get one of those cutter systems with the cold air in Canada and warm air getting dragged up from the southeast. A bad dose of immature snow will be falling from the very early morning of Friday through about noon, with temps rising to near 50. But the good news is that the storm is a pretty quick mover and it has cold air behind it, so we can get back to snowmaking. With most of the unpleasantness happening Friday morning, we are going to delay opening until Noon-time Friday as the afternoon will still have soft snow before freezing up at night. Then the groomers will be able to get on Wand and Show Off for Saturday's normal opening with snow showers expected over the weekend. As always, we will make the best of it!
The pond gets a nice refill and the snowmaking team will be back at it Friday night through next week to expand to the summit. The couple of pipe breaks from mid-mtn on up to summit have all been fixed with over 100 feet of new pipe installed! Thanks to our ops team, Arc Force welding and Hunter Excavating getting it done in extremely cold weather over the last couple of days. Both of our compressors are now ready to give us max air power with both the 400 upper loop and 300 lower loop lines in action starting Friday night.

The Christmas-New Year's holiday week is fast approaching and we are open straight through from 12/26 through 1/4. It's going to be fun 10 days of skiing and riding, with new Night Skiing in the Abracadabra handle tow area on Friday and Saturday nights; the T-BAR food, bar & firepit area opening at bottom of Show Off; and, lots of "apres" entertainment at the Tavern with our huge New Year's Eve DJ Dance Party.
So now's the time to lock in those season passes; season-long weekend youth programs starting on 12/27; day-tickets; and, finally, Throwback Cards which will only be sold until 12/24. Remember, Throwback Cards are a great way to save on tickets (save 30%) throughout the season (no black outs) and come with a free ski day on your 2nd visit!

Magic Merchants
Sharon has Magic Merchants loaded with fan-favorite gear for the holiday season, so stop on in or email her at swagner@magicmtn.com if you need something but can't get up before Christmas. There is a bunch of added kids gear this year! She's happy to provide some great ideas, do a "facebook live" video from the store with you and ship things out! The store will be open on Christmas Eve from 11-4pm for all you last minute shoppers!

While Friday will be less than ideal, the conditions in the afternoon should be soft until closing, and then the snowmaking begins anew with a full pond for a fun holiday week together!
