Chris Marks laying down some tele turns on Black Line today!

Greetings from Londonderry,

That rascal of a rodent says 6 more weeks of winter. We say more.

While there hasn't been any significant snow since the 16"-er last week, the natural conditions have been excellent with some fine grooming as well. The cord lasts all day here, especially on beautiful sunny days like our Thursday "Everybody's a Local Day" today. Still plenty of woods in play with 48 trails. While the temps do turn colder this weekend, the key is to dress for success, and especially on Sunday when its the coldest, take frequent breaks. Saturday may actually get a couple inches of fresh snow from a clipper system and it starts out with moderately good temperatures in the teens, but there is some wind expected.

Beautiful morning in the "forest".
Beautiful morning in the "forest".

We have added something new in the Abracadabra Area for the weekend with the handle tow area debuting some new park features and rollers. On Saturday we have a college competition in there and there is night skiing there for both Friday and Saturday from 4-7p under the lights!

New park build for the weekend!

Snowmaking also began today on the West Side with Upper Wizard, which has seen a lot of traffic after a very busy weekend. Definitely want to secure that and Talisman for the upcoming President's holiday week and into the spring--even though our furry forecaster Phil is guaranteeing more winter ahead.

As always, stay tuned to the website snow report for all the latest.

(Reminder for those who already have a Magic RFID card: You do not need to go to the ticket window if you make a new ticket purchase, or Indy reservation, or Throwback Card ticket purchase or redeem a Freedom 4-Pack voucher code. If you use the online ticket system at estore.magicmtn.com, you can go straight to the lift as the purchase, reservation or redemption will be automatically loaded onto your existing Magic RFID card to save you time and reduce lines at the window!)

The Lawson's T-BAR will be happening on Saturday at the base of Show Off for food, bevies and a warm fire-pit.

Tonight we have Trivia at 6:30; Friday there's SINGO at 7pm; and, then Saturday we have apres music with Shermtone and the Bonfire from 3-6pm.

After a sold-out Comedy Club Night last Saturday, we are back to music with a high-energy rock group out of Saratoga to get us on the dance floor. Please join us for the Doug Villano Band at 7pm--no cover!

Magic attended the National Ski Area Association's Eastern Show this week up at Killington and there was definitely a buzz about what we do here even though we are not one of the bigger resorts. The staff here does it all, and the interest they take in truly providing this unique down-home, intimate experience is a huge part of that. And, you all are a big part of it as "great minds think alike"--by understanding and wanting the difference that is Magic. Thanks for being with us!

Keeping the soul in skiing,

Geoff
