Greetings from Londonderry,

The 4-5 inches of new snow this week helped expand open terrain dramatically. We had 30 trails and glades open all over the East Side--even more glades not on the official trail map. Plus, Patrol just opened 5 all-natural snow trails on West Side this afternoon!

An update to the weather from yesterday's email is that last night we had some r**n, then very strong warm winds, followed by a re-freeze in the early morning hours that firmed up everything greatly. As the temps warm back up again by midday, Patrol will be opening back up some of the all-natural terrain but Saturday will be firm/fast groomers first and then more all-natural later in the day as we warm and things soften. Then Saturday night's system will be a snow/sleet/fr rn wintry of around an inch which could make for a good Sunday ski day depending on how much of which type falls overnight. (Mother-nature always keeping us on our toes!) Snowmaking will also start up Sunday night on the West Side with storm watches late next week.

With trail count climbing and peak season now upon us, especially MLK holiday weekend upcoming, it's important to make those ticket purchases and Indy reservations for the weekends in advance to make sure you get in before any possible "sell-out". We limit tickets, including Indy, to 1,500 max per day to keep any possible lines to a minimum. And remember, we do have night skiing now at the Abracadabra Handle Tow area on Friday and Saturday nights from 4-7pm (great for the kids while we all hang at the Tavern watching!). If you already have a day ticket and want to upgrade to a night ticket as well, you can do that with a minimal upcharge of $20 at the ticket window. Lesson can be reserved for the night area, too.
