Greetings from Londonderry,
What a good time we all had over the holiday weekend, both inside and outside! Thanks to so many for hanging with us and bringing that classic Magic vibe! Our biggest MLK weekend crowd ever--all without any lift lines!
This week has brought 4-5" of fresh snow and a powdery day of skiing yesterday for our "Everybody's a Local Day", with great conditions today as well!

Tonight, it starts to get really frigid with well-below zero temperatures coming with an artic high pressure system for Saturday. With the "highs" on Saturday maybe getting to zero degrees at the base with a "feels like" temp around 10 below and the summit about 5-10 degrees colder than that, our guest safety plan is to run Green Chair to mid-mountain during the coldest morning hours, along with the conveyor lift. Those will be a 9am start. The Red Summit Lift will be on "cold hold" to start the day and then we will evaluate opening it around Noon if temps and wind chills moderate enough. So relax in the morning on Saturday and have an extra cup of coffee. Face coverings are a must to reduce skin exposure, along with frequent trips back into the lodge to avoid frost bite.
Then on Sunday a major storm system arrives which has the potential to bring 12-18"+ to southern Vermont. The system starts around noon for a fresh snow afternoon on Sunday and then continues through Monday. While we have two private mountain rentals next week on Monday and Wednesday (lucky them!), the skiing will still be off the charts across the entire mountain when we re-open on Thursday through next Sunday. (We will be closed on Tuesday.) Keep posted to our snow report for all the latest. (Reminder, uphill touring is totally closed on the days of our private mountain rentals.)
(Reminder for those who already have a Magic RFID card: You do not need to go to the ticket window if you make a new ticket purchase, or Indy reservation, Throwback Card ticket purchase or redeem a Freedom 4-Pack voucher code. If you use the online ticket system at estore.magicmtn.com, you can go straight to the lift as the purchase, reservation or redemption will be automatically loaded onto your existing Magic RFID card to save you time!)

Snowsports Learning at Magic
Women's Weekend Clinics!
This season we’re bringing back one of Magic’s most popular events—our Women’s Weekend Snowsports Clinic. Designed for women who want to build confidence, improve technique, and connect with the mountain in a fun, supportive environment, these weekends offer the perfect blend of skill development and camaraderie. On-snow coaching combined with indoor mental performance sessions led by Dr. Chrissy Semler make this a great weekend to improve your entire skillset.
Dates: January 31st & February 1st (only a couple of spots left)
February 28th & March 1st
Ride Together Workshops
Saturday’s from 1:00PM to 3:00PM
Sunday’s 10:00AM to12:00PM
Want to hit the slopes with your crew and actually work on your skills — not just follow the leader? This 2-hour group lesson is designed for up to four friends or family members who want to improve together. Led by one of our experienced instructors, this session focuses on building confidence, refining technique, and improving your all-mountain riding. Everyone in your group should already be comfortable riding the lift and navigating intermediate terrain. The lesson is paced to the group, with coaching and feedback throughout — so you can learn, progress, and enjoy the mountain as a team.
Cost: $300 for up to 4 people (lift tickets not included)

Black Line Tavern
We had a blast last weekend with both Saints & Liars and Pink-182 packing the house!

And, the Black Line Tavern will keep you warm this weekend!
Tonight we have SINGO at 7pm, with some great music on tap for Saturday:
- Dave Domenick plays our Apres Party from 3-6p
- The Lustre Kings rock the Main Stage at 7pm with a classic, throwback early rock and roll sound. Touring in the US and Internationally for years with a unique sound and energy that instantly wants to make you move!

COMING SOON: Tickets are running out for next Saturday!
Join us for our Comedy Night Special on January 31st featuring comedian Luke Thayer. After a big day on the slopes, let's all laugh a little for a night, with reserved comedy club-like seating in the BLT!

Big snow is coming and the Magic vibes are flowing like Fiddlehead from our taps. Can't wait to see you here next Thursday through Sunday with all the new snow! Time flies (especially at my age) so let's plan on being here as much as possible over the coming weeks.
This storm will also be hitting everywhere in the Northeast, so please take care and be safe where you are as all roads will be a mess during this storm.
Keeping the soul in skiing,
Geoff
